Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today said Pakistan could neither fight a full-fledged nor limited war with India and was waging a proxy war in Kashmir.
He was speaking in the Lok Sabha on the 20th anniversary of the Kargil conflict as Parliament paid tribute to Indian soldiers who fought across the 168-km front along the LoC in the Kargil-Drass-Batalik sector.
The Union Minister, along with his deputy Shripad Yesso Naik, and the Vice Chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force — Lt Gen Devraj Anbu, Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar and Air Force Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria — paid homage at the National War Memorial. In Rajya Sabha, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu praised the soldiers’ courage.
