Naxal’s autopsy done again

Hyderabad, August 2

As directed by the Telangana HC, a team of doctors at a hospital here today conducted a re-postmortem on CPI(ML) New Democracy leader Ponnam Linganna, 40, who was killed in an alleged encounter.

The court order came yesterday after a PIL filed by the Civil Liberties Committee, seeking a criminal case against the police and to conduct a re-postmortem by forensic experts, besides constituting an SIT. The committee alleged it was a fake encounter, while the government said it was a genuine one and that the Naxalite carried a lethal weapon. — PTI
