New Delhi: The national tennis federation today maintained that security concerns remain in Pakistan after the world governing body (ITF) sought a fresh response from India following Pakistan federation’s (PTF) appeal against shifting of the Davis Cup tie to a neutral venue. PTF president Salim Saifullah Khan said they will explore other options in case ITF rejects the appeal.

Kenya’s Kiptum gets 4-year ban for doping
Kenya’s former world half marathon record holder Abraham Kiptum has been banned for four years over an anti-doping violation. The Athletics Integrity Unit had provisionally suspended the 30-year-old on April 26 for an Athlete Biological Passport violation. All of Kiptum’s results going back to October 13, 2018 — including a half marathon world record (58 minutes and 18 seconds) — have been disqualified. Kiptum’s compatriot Geoffrey Kamworor broke the world record by 17 seconds in September.

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly left the Allianz Stadium before the final whistle of Juventus’ 1-0 Serie A win over AC Milan on Sunday after being substituted for the second match in a week. Paulo Dybala replaced Ronaldo on 55 minutes with the Argentina striker going on to score the winning goal 22 minutes later to keep Juventus top in Serie A ahead of Inter Milan. Shakhtar Donetsk captain Taison on Sunday was sent off for kicking the ball at Dynamo Kiev fans after they targeted him with racist abuse. Taison left the field in tears after his red card for “unsporting behaviour”, which came when he reacted to the insults from away supporters.
