Flight cancelled, passengers ferried by road

Pune: Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, on Saturday cancelled its Nashik-Pune flight in view of NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued at the Pune airport, prompting authorities to ferry 18 of 28 passengers to Pune by road, said an official. The flight was coming from Hyderabad and was supposed to land at Pune at 9.30 am. NOTAM includes info concerning establishment, condition or change in aeronautical facility, service, procedure or hazard on the flight route. PTI 

Work on to up ‘Banglar Rosogolla’ shelf life

Kolkata: Jadavpur University’s food technology department is collaborating with West Bengal Government to increase shelf life of “Banglar Rosogolla”, which got GI tag two years ago, to market it internationally. “Our R&D department is on the job to suggest ways for increasing the shelf life of rosogolla by a considerable time, say six months,” said a senior professor. The dessert will be manufactured using machines, he added. PTI

Spl India Post cover on Gandhi’s ‘Young India’

Kolkata: India Post has released a special cover on Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Young India’ magazine to commemorate his 150th birth anniversary. The special cover was released at an ongoing philatelic exhibition here on Saturday. The exhibition is being organised by the West Bengal circle of India Post from November 16 to 21. PTI
