Muzaffarnagar riots: UP Govt allows withdrawal of 20 cases
Lucknow: The Yogi government has given permission to withdraw 20 more cases relating to the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots said Muzaffarnagar ADM (Administration ) AK Singh. So far, the state government has isuued orders for the withdrawal of 74 cases. In 2018, the state government had started the process of withdrawing criminal cases against the riot accused. During the riots, 60 persons were killed and 50,000 displaced. A total of 502 cases had been lodged against 6,867 persons. tns
IS suspects planned to poison ‘prasad’: Police
Mumbai: A group of youths who were arrested by the anti-terror squad of the Maharashtra Police had planned to poison worshippers at a temple in Mumbai, said the chargesheet filed in the matter. The police confirmed that the chargesheet against 10 youths belonging to the Ummat-E-Mohammaddiya was filed before a local court this month. It named 10 youths, including a minor, for ‘plotting’ to poison worshippers at the Mumbreshwar temple last December. tns
